Welcome Michael Axley, M.D.
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Michael Axley to the OAG team. He began practicing on July 10th at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. Dr. Axley received a bachelor of arts in general literature from Reed College before heading to Portland State University where he received a bachelor of science in general science. He then attended Cornell University Medical College in New York, where he received his doctor of medicine. He also received a masters in journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York. Dr. Axley completed his residency in internal medicine at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, as well as a residency in anesthesia at Oregon Health & Science University where he remained as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine until joining OAG. Dr. Axley was a freelance writer and editor for Medscape, The Oregonian, Oregon Health Forum, and others. He was also a staff writer for The Skanner Newspaper, an information specialist for Fox News, and a medical editor for CBS HealthWatch.
