Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center includes sustainability as part of its mission. The facility won the Portland General Electric’s Outstanding Leadership in Clean Wind Contribution award, and the center focuses on water conservation and clean energy. Additionally, the organization partners with local farmers markets to stock the hospital cafeteria. The patients and staff enjoy healthy, organic meals and the planet benefits from fewer carbon emissions used during food transport. In 2021, the Federal government awarded three Legacy hospitals for delivering five-star quality care to our communities. Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Portland, Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center in Tualatin and Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center in Clark County, Wash., were all recognized for their five-star quality care. Their quality was measured using five categories: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, and timely and effective care.
